1. What led you to do your very first bondage shoot? And, had you done any adult modeling before shooting bondage or did bondage modeling come first?

The very first shoot I ever did was for a bondage hobbyist a friend of mine found in the back of the local alternative paper when I went to college. He was recommended by several friends who had shot with him before and I thought it seemed like a cosmopolitan, city girl thing to do. It didn't occur to me that I could model for anything other than college photography and figure drawing classes for several years after that so I don't know if you'd really count it but it was technically my first photoshoot ever. Moraxian's Game Room was my first professional bondage shoot though.

2. How do you decide what producers you will work with? What factors do you consider in deciding to work (or not work) with a particular producer?

First I look at the producer's work to see if it looks like something I could physically and emotionally take. I have stomach problems that keep me from doing upside down suspension bondage, for example, and for reasons totally beyond my comprehension I will break down in tears if I'm continually plied with stingy pain so I tend to avoid those shoots. So basically I see if our styles match up and then I contact my friends (especially those with similar limits to mine) to see if they've heard anything or enjoyed their experiences. I think most models do that.

If you want to get into bondage photography a huge help would be to hire experienced, respected models. We all talk to each other and we're much more likely to work with someone if we see he's worked with girls we know, especially if he's worked with any of the girls more than one time. Added bonus there is that experienced models can guide your behavior and newer models seeing your work will be impressed by all the big name models you're working with.

3. What were you like as a teenager before you entered the adult industry? Were you sexual? Rebellious?

I love this question. I was in Christian school for much of my adolescence and I grew up somewhere where I was considered to be ugly and undesirable. I was a complete nerd and I would have given a pound of flesh for someone to be sexual with me. By the time I got my first boyfriend I was so horny that I practically forced him to do "stuff" with me (he didn't want to). I "lost" my virginity at 19 and just hit the ground running!

4. At what point do you think consensual pornography becomes obscene?

I think that it's different for all people but for me it's when I wince from the image in a negative way. When I'm embarrassed for the people in the image and see more circus than sex in it, I think it's obscene.

5. Have you ever been harassed because of your decision to do adult and/or bondage modeling?

Sure, all the time. There are even some fans who get to know me and then say, "Why do you do this to yourself? You're so smart and pretty, you could do anything!" You're consuming this and telling me I shouldn't provide it to you? It's like going to a restaurant and getting indignant that the server actually brought you food.

6. How would you answer critics who argue that bondage and pornography is degrading to women?

I would say that they should try it before they knock it. People who think like that have generally never seen nor been involved with the industry.I think that you're only degraded if you feel degraded or if you allow someone to make you feel that way afterwards.

7. When you are being tied up during a shoot, what are you usually thinking about? Can you describe what it's like for you as you're being bound?

It's different every time. Sometimes I'm thinking about how awesome and hot the scene is, sometimes I'm thinking about my grocery list. I guess that's one drawback to doing bondage modeling as a job. You gotta show up for work even when you're not horny or interested.

8.Is pain fun? Why?

Pain mixed with pleasure is fun. Each one heightens the other.

9. What makes you blush?

Shame, like everyone else.

10. Is there a bondage producer you have not yet worked with that you want to work with? Who is it and why do you want to work with that producer?

Ugh. I'm so bad at this question. I always forget and someone writes me all upset that I forgot him. There's a photographer in France whose images are beautiful and there are a few photographers here in the US who I've been buddies with for years but have somehow never managed to shoot with.

11. Is it difficult to have a serious personal relationship with a person when one or both of you work in the adult industry?

Yes! My fiancé is Restrained Photo. It can be a challenge sometimes making it work because there are issues on top of the issues "normal" couples go through. For example, if we're going through a bit of a dry spell and he doesn't want to shoot/tie me up for a while I begin to worry. Sometimes we get what I call, "professional jealousy" where he'll shoot with one of my friends and I can't go (because then she and I will just talk the whole time) or he'll shoot a concept I'd wanted to shoot with another model or I'll shoot some awesome stuff with another photographer. I think these are kind of issues that other couples go through, just manifesting in a different way. The key is to squash that jealousy as much as possible and to talk through things. For us it helps to just leave each other alone in a professional sense. As Dan Savage says, "It's a relationship, not a deposition". Some mystery and some degree of openness is good.

I know you didn't ask, but the up side of dating someone in the industry is very obvious. He never misunderstands what happens at shoots and all that hot sexual energy that can crop up during a shoot can be released during or after!

12. If you hadn't gone into adult modeling, what do you think you would have done for a career?

I'd be in the career I took my degree for, Environmental Science. I'm not sure what branch I would have gone into, but I'd be in there somewhere.

13. You recently made the decision to return to school. What made you decide to continue your education? What are you studying? Has going back to school affected your ability to model? If so, how? And lastly, how do you balance the two interests?

I haven't seen as many 60 year old models as I have 25 year old models. While producers can keep doing this forever, models age out of the industry. I have to be able to do something else when I'm not the hot young thing any more. I also took a temp job doing websites to support myself during school and -don't tell my professors- I feel like I got more out of that than I did my new degree concentration (solid and hazardous waste studies).

It definitely effected my ability to model because most people thought I retired and a lot of people don't remember who I am any more. You don't travel your butt off for a year and everyone forgets you! What have I, got to run in place to stay still? Also, when I started looking into traveling again the recession was still on and travel costs had gone up. I couldn't afford to travel as much as I had. I feel like I was kind of forced to shift my focus to survive. Now I do a lot of web work and affiliate marketing. I'm building my brand and my website more and I travel as a bonus, as fun when I can...so I guess I don't really "balance" school and modeling, per se, I just have the school there to remind me that I can do other things if I choose to.

14. Who do you admire?

Can I say Jesus, just because everyone says that? No? Um. My parents, because they've always made it work. Sex worker and LGBT activists because they're standing up for something that's hard to stand up for due to societal pressure.

15. What else would you like to tell your many fans about you and/or any of your upcoming projects?

Check out my website! I made it all myself and it's a constant work in progress. I encourage member interaction, if you don't like something or you want to see something different, just tell me! I'm also doing a lot of live cam sessions these days, so you can interact and talk and hang out in real time. Not only do my members get at least two free shows a week where they direct the action, they get discounts on private live shows as well. It's also good to subscribe to my twitter, I ramble on about stupid shit a lot, but some people find it interesting.
